AUSTRALIAN actress Rebecca Gibney admits she doesn't mind a bit of
Botox, comparing the anti-ageing treatment to getting a facial.
The 45-year-old Packed To the Rafters star says she thinks people shouldn't be judged on whether they have cosmetic procedures, The Daily Telegraph reports.
"I've had a bit of Botox, which these days feels like having a facial," Gibney has told the Australian Women's Weekly.
"I think even if women want to cut their face and put someone else's on, that's fine. We should stop judging each other."
Gibney is on the cover of the January issue of the magazine, out on
Wednesday, alongside fellow stunning ageing beauties Jana Wendt,
Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Deborah Hutton, Carla Zampatti, Jodhi Meares and
Gail Elliott. Inside the magazine the women, who range from 38
(Meares) to 67 (Zampatti) talk about their body issues, cosmetic
surgery, diet and staying healthy. Wearing a flowing navy Lisa Ho
Dress, Gibney, who has a five-year-old son Zac, talks about how she
feels more relaxed about her looks in her 40s, and believes in being
positive. "If someone asks me if their bum looks big, I'll always say they look fantastic," she says. Former newsreader Wendt, 53, meanwhile, says Botox isn't for her and is resigned to living contentedly with her body. "It's
an age-old pursuit of humankind to look for the elixir of youth but on
even a cursory reading of Wikipedia on the side effects of Botox, it
doesn't hold much appeal," Wendt says. The Daily Telegraph
